DASH WAFFLE MAKER CHAIR

Scope : “Mini-Maker” Waffle Maker Chair, Waffle Cushion, Butter Pillows

A large-scale, sculptural undertaking, the Storebound “Mini-Maker” waffle maker chair was a very fun and challenging project to tackle. From start to finish, based off of the client’s concept, I re-created their widely distributed product in a large scale format, engineered the design to be at correct seat height, support large amounts of weight securely, and light up. I produced the client-facing drawing set for this project, worked directly with the seamstress and fabrication team to assure precise construction, and provided templates and instruction manuals for each team. I decided the substrates and materials to use, CNC routed every aspect, and sourced everything for this job, down to the fabrics and vinyl.

I engineered the connecting hardware to be able to secure the top section to the bottom with two 20” steel poles, but have them removable so the two sections could be transported in separate crates.

Blue acrylic dome indented detail, recreated to precisely reflect the product’s same detail in a larger scale. To achieve this, I CNC routed a slump mold out of MDF and a blue acrylic circle and heated the acrylic to form to the MDF mold.
